Pinecrest Construction Selected for Major Reno Retail Transformation

Renderings for the McCarran Marketplace revitalization

We're excited to announce that Pinecrest Construction & Development has been selected as the general contractor for the comprehensive renovation of McCarran Marketplace, a significant retail redevelopment project in South Reno.

Project Overview

Tolles Development Company recently acquired the 52,000-square-foot McCarran Marketplace (formerly Air Center Plaza) as part of a strategic $10 million investment in local commercial properties. Built in 1988, this aging retail center is being transformed into a modern boutique retail destination with a $2.5 million renovation budget.

Our Role in the Transformation

Working alongside OneStudio D+A as the project architect, Pinecrest Construction will oversee the complete modernization of this high-traffic retail center, which sees over 60,000 vehicles per day along South McCarran Boulevard.

Scope of Work

The renovation will include:

  • Modern facade upgrades

  • Complete interior renovations

  • New landscaping and outdoor improvements

  • Creation of inviting common areas and dining patios

  • Full tenant improvement buildouts for restaurants, including state-of-the-art kitchens and dining spaces

Timeline and Community Impact

Construction is scheduled to begin this summer with an estimated completion timeframe of four to six months. This project represents more than just a renovation—it's a community investment aimed at bringing quality dining, shopping, and business options to an underserved area of South Reno.

The redeveloped center will maintain local favorites like Juicy's Giant Hamburgers while attracting a more upscale tenant mix that better serves the community's needs.

Looking Forward

This project exemplifies Pinecrest Construction's commitment to supporting local development that strengthens our community. We're proud to be part of a transformation that will create lasting value for both businesses and residents in South Reno.

Stay tuned for construction updates as we work to bring this exciting vision to life.
